CRYRING Farewell 23 April 2010

The operation of the CRYRING facility will end during the coming months, after some concluding tests related to the planned transfer of the ring to FAIR. The first beam was injected into the ring at the end of 1990, and the experimental programme started in 1992. Since then, more than 375 scientific papers in refereed journals and more than 40 PhD theses have been published with results from CRYRING.

The Manne Siegbahn Laboratory invites all present and past CRYRING users and staff to a symposium on the 23 April with talks summarizing the activities at CRYRING. A few words will also be said about the expected second life of CRYRING as the antiproton decelerator LSR at FAIR, and we will not say “adieu” to CRYRING, just “farewell” on its journey to Darmstadt.
