To reach the city or the lab from Arlanda airport, the main alternatives are bus, train or taxi.
Taxis cost SEK 450-500 (1 SEK is approximately 0.10 euro or 0.14 dollar in September 2009) and leave from just outside the terminal buildings. You must check the fare with the driver since pricing is not regulated. It is adviced to use one of larger taxi companies, like Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir, Taxi 020 or Stockholm Transfer. These have fixed prices, but you should still check with the driver.
There is a fast and convenient train that takes you to the Central Station in Stockholm in 20 min. and costs SEK 240 (more if bought onboard the train). It has frequent departures from a station underneath the terminal buildings. There is a Metro station (with a blue "T" symbol) in connection to the Central Station for continued journey to MSL.
The bus takes you to a bus terminal (Cityterminalen) next door to the Central Station. It takes 40 min. and costs SEK 119. It leaves from just outside the terminal buildings. There is a Metro station (with a blue "T" symbol) in connection to the Central Station for continued journey to the MSL.
Some domestic and international flights also arrive at the smaller Bromma airport, which is located less than 10 km from the city centre, and where you can choose between bus to Cityterminalen or taxi. Finally, Ryanair flies to Skavsta airport, about 100 km southwest of Stockholm, where buses to Cityterminalen cost SEK 89 one way.
